Pringles Salt n Vinegar

Reminisce with me back during your childhood memories....It was so much easier being a kid! Eat.play.sleep.repeat. What was the one thing that you loved eating? Pringles!!?;) I loved all snack food, candy, chocolate, and sugary drinks. They were so irresistible! I remember going to the grocery store and being barely tall enough to reach up to the shelves. Pleading with my parents to buy me this and that. My parents yelling at me for eating too much junk food. Then suffering later for it when I had to go to the dentist. Scary.

Do you remember the Pringles commercials in the past? Heavily marketed with these slogans,
"Once you pop, you can't stop" and "Everything pops with Pringles." Which is true. I've never eaten one pringle chip and stopped!

Interesting facts:

-P&G chose the name "Pringles" from a Cincinnati phone book.
-First sold in the U.S. in 1968, not fully accessible until mid 70's.
-has less than 50% potato content

Whats the other 50% made up of?? (scroll down to see ingredient list) Pringles has been around before I was even born! The thing that's unique about Pringles is the packaging. No crushed chips! A hollow cylinder shaped package that keeps all the chips in neat order without most fears of crushing. The most notable flavors are the salt n vinegar and sour cream and onion. Original is also very good. (Haven't tried some of the newer flavors)

I love how they are stacked in such neat order and it makes it that much easier to gobble them down! muahha!

Taste factor: Tart flavors of the vinegar stand out and a light dusting of salt can be tasted. Taste very light. Distinctive Pringles after taste.
Crunch: Very good! One perfectly shaped chip can fit in my mouth to munch away at once!
Texture: Thin, no sharp edges (no poking the side of your gum's), crisp.
Flavor: 7 out of 10.

Nutritional info:
Serving size: 1 ounce, about 15 chips
Calories 150
total fat: 10 g

Ingredients: dried potatoes, vegetable oil (contains one or more of the following: corn oil, cottonseed oil, soybean oil, and/or sunflower oil), rice flour, wheat starch and maltodextrin, contains 2% or less of: salt, dextrose, lactose, malic acid, vinegar, tricalcium phosphate and turmeric (color). contains wheat and milk ingredients

Why are there so many ingredients???!!!!!! hmm...I hope you enjoyed my review of Pringles and maybe learned something from it?? ^_^

Is kettle cooked chips healthier than baked?

Kettle style chips are made by frying the chips in a kettle full of oil. While baked...well...baked is where you placed the sliced potatoes in a oven. Obvious answer to that one....

Anything baked is probably healthier than most...one of my rule of thumbs! Although, you live once and might as well eat the good stuff! ^_^

I'm back!!!!! Took a very long hiatus indeed...

Well, It has been an eventful summer thus far. I went to Miami, drove countless hours back and forth to Philly, Pittsburgh for a wedding, Jersey shore, & Six Flags. I spent some quality time with my best friends, family, and got to know them a bit better. Happy times indeed! But...I've over exhausted myself and got sick for the first time 4th of July weekend! :( The last time I was sick before that was probably a year or so ago. Not bad, but I was rocked!!!!!! Fever, throat on fire, bad cough, chills, ....it was pretty terrible. I'm all better now but still have a slight lingering cough that won't seem to go away! blah I can't wait until I'm back at 100% again. Anyway, I hope you guys come back and read some more! I really do have a bunch of salt n vinegar chip reviews coming. Lol and a bunch of other chips that I've sampled but haven't noted. ^_^ Happy Munching!!!!!!
